The "crystal caverns" are so large that electric bus tours transport visitors throughout the many rooms. Harrison’s cave was common knowledge among the locals for centuries, but not explored until 1970. The cave was opened to the public eleven years later.
Some of the sights of the subterranean chambers include blue-green pools, 40 foot tall waterfalls, streams and unusual natural rock formations. Tours are led by knowledgeable guides and last approximately one hour. Each bus stops several times to allow visitors a chance to walk around and see the cave up close.
The main entrance to the cave is a huge chamber 120 feet below the surface separated into upper and lower levels. Prepare to be amazed by this natural wonder of Barbados!
