Barbados is well-known for its beaches and its rum, but there is so much more to see on this complex little island. Over 300 years of written history have marked our landscape with romantic houses and overgrown ruins, while countless millennia of natural activity have blessed the country with unusual cave formations, coral reefs and other wonders. Barbados has more attractions for its size than any other island in the Caribbean.

Tour Operators offer guided walks through our national parks and forests, safari trips to hidden beaches, narrated hikes of historical buildings and sites, even lessons in making rum. To the north the island is less densely populated and the steep cliffs and quiet fishing villages offer a unique experience off the beaten path. The central parishes offer craftsmen's studios, an 18^th century abandoned garden and a crystallized limestone cavern, among other items.  On the eastern side of the island, a gothic church and the ruins of a great plantation house and seminary await discovery. As you return to the south, tour one of the extensive sugar estates, or spend some time learning a new water sport in the calm waters just off the Caribbean coast.
