An active sporting background in polo and horseracing has sparked the imagination of the small equestrian community of the island. Stables focus on dressage, offer show-jumping courses and house locally bred, prize-winning horses. The Congo Road Equestrian Centre near Six Roads is the epicenter of dressage in Barbados. They have sent teams to the PanAm Games and placed remarkably well. 

Riding schools and jumping venues offer services for visitors who have had to leave their ponies at home.
